Job summary

ByteDance seeks an experienced AI software engineer to rapidly develop and debug AI applications for production-grade deployment inside customer environments. The role emphasizes building Agent systems, prompt engineering, and RAG-based solutions that scale in real-world use.

You will design cloud- and AI-based architectures, integrate with customers’ APIs, build observability pipelines, and collaborate with customer engineering teams to ensure high adoption, stability, and business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• More than 3 years of software development experience, with strong proficiency in Vibe Coding and substantial practical application of it in real-world projects.
• Hands-on experience building AI applications, including Prompt Engineering, Fine-Tuning, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Agent development.
• Experience in cloud-based architecture design and development, including developing with cloud service APIs/SDKs, automated deployment, and designing highly available and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI applications prototypes for validation and production-grade deployment.
• Design AI- and cloud-based architectures leveraging AI-assisted development to rapidly implement solutions within customer environments, integrating with APIs and data systems while satisfying security requirements.
• Build high-performance evaluation pipelines and observability frameworks to ensure Agent systems meet accuracy, safety, and latency requirements.
• Identify reusable application patterns and technical challenges, translate them into product feature requests, and drive product evolution and improvement.
• Work closely with customers’ engineering teams to ensure successful deployment of AI applications, achieving stability, high adoption rates, and sustained business value.
