Job summary

Ward Security Limited is seeking an experienced Elite Support Officer for a busy retail shopping centre in Gillingham. You will protect visitors, staff and assets while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a visible security presence.

Requirements include a valid Frontline SIA Licence and CCTV Licence, plus at least one year of Corporate Security Officer experience. The role offers £13.98 per hour, weekend days 07:00-19:00, with shifts to cover sickness and annual leave, plus

We are looking for a professional and customer-focused Elite Support Officer to join the team at a busy retail shopping centre in Gillingham. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment, providing assistance and information to shoppers, staff and visitors, controlling access, conducting patrols and responding to incidents. Excellent communication, strong situational awareness and a polished professional demeanour are essential.

Location: Gillingham
Pay Rate: £13.98 per hour
Shift Pattern: Weekend days, 07:00-19:00, plus a variety of shifts covering sickness and annual leave
Requirements: Valid Frontline SIA Licence and CCTV License

About the Role:

As an Elite Support Officer, you will help protect the shopping centre, its visitors, staff and assets while delivering excellent customer service. You will maintain a visible security presence, ensure site procedures are followed and respond professionally to incidents and enquiries.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a key point of contact for shoppers, staff, visitors and tenants, providing information and assistance while maintaining a professional and approachable manner.
• Controlling access points, authorising or refusing entry where appropriate, following all written and verbal instructions, and conducting regular patrols to deter threats to the centre, its property and assets.
• Investigating incidents and taking appropriate lawful action in line with corporate policies and procedures.
• Completing accurate daily reports, recording relevant observations and providing surveillance footage where required and authorised.
• Communicating clearly and professionally across all platforms, including face-to-face interactions, written reports and security radios.
• Responding effectively to emergencies, using relevant IT systems, detection systems and emergency equipment as required.

• A valid Frontline SIA Licence and CCTV License
• At least one year of proven experience as a Corporate Security Officer.

• Good IT skills and the ability to operate security detection systems and emergency equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, quick thinking and a positive attitude when dealing with challenges.
• Availability to work across all seven days of the week, including additional shifts to cover sickness and annual leave.
