Job summary

Metrol in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electronics Workshop Manager to lead the workshop, ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑quality delivery of assembly, service, repair, calibration, and continual improvement activities. You will oversee daily operations, manage a multidisciplinary team, drive KPI performance, and coordinate ERP/MRP driven processes while controlling costs and training staff.

The role demands strong leadership, QHSE knowledge and a balance of production with process

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in electronics workshop or similar environment.
• Working knowledge of QHSE, ESD control, audits and CAPA.
• Experience guiding multi-disciplinary technical teams and progression frameworks.
• Ability to plan and prioritise workloads across production, service and repair.
• Experience using KPIs and ERP/MRP data to drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a multidisciplinary team including assemblers, technicians, QC inspectors and calibration staff.
• Lead planning and delivery of team training, progression and competency frameworks.
• Oversee daily workshop operations for new build assembly and service/repair.
• Coordinate activities across assembly, test, repair, QC and calibration to meet schedules.
• Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, right-first-time, and workshop utilisation.
• Control budgets and overtime, and drive waste reduction and cost improvements.
• Ensure compliance with build/test procedures and documentation standards.
• Lead risk assessments and maintain high standards of workshop housekeeping and safety.
