Job summary

Legrand in Cramlington is seeking a Test and Repairs Technician to join the site team. The role focuses on testing and repairing manufactured products to internal specifications, fault-finding to component level, and reporting root causes.

You will maintain test equipment and support development of new test protocols, ensuring compliance with quality and H&S standards. Base location is Cramlington with a salary of £26,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or time-served experience.
• Hands-on testing and fault finding of electronic products (analogue/digital).
• Strong knowledge of engineering and electrical/electronic testing skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic drawings/schematics.
• Desirable knowledge in relevant product areas or systems.

Responsibilities

• Test and repair of manufactured products to internal specification.
• Fault-finding, analysis, and diagnosis of non-working electronic devices down to component level.
• Investigate and report issues during testing to confirm root cause and failure mode.
• Prepare sample test reporting detailing findings through testing procedures.
• Propose new test procedures and assist in their development.
• Support test protocols, specifications and validation.
• Ensure testing processes comply with production requirements.
• Maintain, repair and calibrate test equipment.
• Lead training on test procedures with manufacturing operators.
• Debrief to industrialization and Manufacturing teams on issues and actions.
