Job summary

The Best Connection in Ashford, Kent is seeking a Test & Inspection Technician to join our electronics team. This role tests, inspects, fault-finds, repairs and validates electronic products to ensure they meet high standards of quality, performance and safety.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electronics and an Electrical Engineering degree. You will work with engineering, production and quality teams to promote best practice and ensure compliance with IEC 61010

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential.
Experience in electronic testing, fault-finding and repair.
Ability to repair PCBs to component level.
Experience reading schematics and technical documentation.
Soldering and rework of SMT and through-hole components.
Good understanding of electrical safety standards.

Responsibilities

Test, inspect and validate electronic assemblies and products against specifications.
Diagnose faults and repair PCBs to component level using schematics.
Carry out rework of SMT and through-hole components to IPC standards.
Support testing and evaluation of new product designs and identify issues.
Document findings and corrective actions from product qualification testing.
Perform servicing and repairs on electronic products and maintain records.
Develop and improve testing methodologies and testing procedures.
Work with engineering, production and quality teams to promote best practices.
Ensure testing activities comply with IEC 61010 safety standards.
