Job summary

AVD Appoint is recruiting an Electronics Test Engineer for a Berkshire-based engineering organisation. You will work in the lab, assembling prototypes, running tests and documenting results.

You will handle soldering, PCB rework and harness preparation, and operate 3D printers and the EMC test chamber as part of the testing workflow. The role requires practical hands-on experience with test equipment and a track record of testing and debugging designs.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Electronics Test Engineer, Electronics Technician, Electronics Engineer, Prototype Engineer, Electronics Lab Technician, Bench Technician or similar
• Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, signal generators and/or logic analysers
• Experience of taking a design and being able to test and debug it

Electronics Test Engineer - Berkshire - up to £40,000 + Benefits - REF 2032

I am currently recruiting an Electronics Technician to work for a leading engineering organisation based in Berkshire. Salary up to £40,000 + Benefits.

As a result, they have some of the most highly capable engineers within their business.

To support the growth of the business and in line with current workload they have created a brand new role and have the need to appoint an Electronics Test Engineer on a permanent basis.

In this role as an Electronics Test Engineer, you will be responsible for all laboratory work supporting the engineers who are designing and developing the products. You will be very hands‑on with assembling prototypes, conducting the testing, and supporting all results with the necessary data and documentation. You will also be involved in Soldering, PCB rework activities and preparing the necessary harnesses. Operating a range of 3D Printers and the EMC test chamber will also fall under your remit.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience as an Electronics Test Engineer, Electronics Technician, Electronics Engineer, Prototype Engineer, Electronics Lab Technician, Bench Technician or similar
• Experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, bench power supplies, signal generators and/or logic analysers
• Experience of taking a design and being able to test and debug it

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience working in a Laboratory
• Experience with Soldering
• Security Cleared (SC clearance)
• PCB Design and Schematic capture (ideally Altium)
• Experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, sensors, microcontrollers, power supplies, motors, or embedded systems
• Experience with ESD handling, component identification, and PCB inspection
