Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plc is seeking a Test Development Engineer (Electronics) to design, develop and support production test solutions for electronic products. This on-site role in High Wycombe will involve close collaboration with external partners and internal teams to transfer products from development into production and sustain them through their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience developing test solutions for electronics and PCBAs.
• Familiarity with NPI and transferring products to manufacturing.
• Experience with automatic test equipment (ATE) and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain automated and manual test solutions for electronic assemblies and systems.
• Own test solution development in partnership with external suppliers, translating internal requirements into robust, scalable production tests.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring cost, size, complexity and manufacturability targets are met.
• Write, read, modify and debug test software (primarily C++, C# and/or Python).
• Provide technical project management, leading discussions across engineering, manufacturing and external partners.
• Support the transfer of products into production, including test validation and ramp-up.
• Analyse production test data to identify trends, faults and improvement opportunities.
• Improve test efficiency, coverage, reliability and throughput.
