Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is seeking an Electronics Rework Technician for a busy electronics manufacturing site in Wellingborough on a 3-month temporary contract. The role focuses on BGA rework, SMT soldering, and precision inspection in a high-skill environment.

You will work with microscopes, hand tools, and automated hot air equipment to ensure high-quality repairs and adherence to IPC standards. Immediate start available and the team offers modern facilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with manual soldering of SMT/through-hole components is essential.
• Background in electronics repair, rework, manufacturing, or field service environments.
• Experience using microscopes for inspection work.

Responsibilities

• Removal, replacement, and reflow of BGA components using automated hot air convection equipment.
• Surface mount land preparation for PCBs and ICs using desoldering methods.
• Reballing BGA ICs, including removal and replacement of solder spheres using automated equipment.
• Carrying out detailed visual inspections using a microscope to identify solder defects, shorts, and quality issues.
• Performing board modifications in line with customer specifications.
• Maintaining strict adherence to quality processes and procedures.
• Identifying and highlighting opportunities for process improvements.
• Ensuring compliance with internal quality and workmanship standards.
