Job summary

Uxbridge Employment Agency seeks an Electronics Repair Technician for a busy West London workshop. The role is hands-on, fault finding, and repairing electronic equipment to ensure items are safe and reliable for return to service.

You will diagnose faults, perform component-level repairs, solder/desolder small components, test equipment, and maintain repair records. Experience with diverse electronics is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing electronic equipment and diagnosing faults.
• Qualification in electronics or related discipline.
• Practical workshop experience in a technical environment.
• Good soldering skills with small components and PCBs.
• Mechanical ability; safe dismantling and reassembly of equipment.
• Experience with audio/visual or broadcast equipment is a plus.
• Transferable experience from consumer or industrial electronics is acceptable.
• Basic computer skills and keeping repair records.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical and electronic faults.
• Carry out component-level repairs.
• Replace defective components and assemblies.
• Solder and desolder components (through-hole and surface-mount).
• Test repaired equipment and verify correct operation.
• Record repairs and update technical information.
• Identify recurring faults or reliability issues.
• Assist with management of replacement parts and components.
• Support colleagues with complex technical problems.
• Carry out general inspection and quality checks on equipment.
