Job summary

Proactive Technical Limited in Luton is seeking an experienced Test Technician to join its engineering and manufacturing operation. The role covers electrical and electronic testing, fault diagnosis and PCB repair within a fast-paced environment.

You will work with high-voltage products, interpret schematics, generate test and fault reports, and maintain test equipment while adhering to quality and safety standards. A methodical, detail-oriented approach and good team communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electrical/electronic testing and PCB fault-finding.
• Experience with SMT and through-hole rework.
• Experience testing electronic assemblies, including high-voltage applications.
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• Experience producing technical/test documentation and using ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical and electronic testing of PCBs and assemblies.
• Perform fault-finding and diagnosis on PCBs.
• Repair and rework faulty PCBs, including SMT and through-hole.
• Use electrical test equipment and fixtures.
• Complete test reports and fault reports and relevant documentation.
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of test equipment.
• Work to defined test procedures, engineering instructions and quality standards.
• Contribute to a safe, efficient and quality-focused manufacturing environment.
