Job summary

IonQ, Inc. in Oxford, UK, is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join the Reliability Engineering team.

You will own the full lifecycle of electronics fixes for trapped‑ion quantum computers, driving improvements in uptime and reducing operational costs across development and production systems. The role involves root-cause analysis, design and deployment of fixes, and close collaboration with Operations, Science, Manufacturing and Engineering to ensure reliable performance of quantum

Qualifications

Analogue and mixed-signal electronics: design and debugging of op-amp circuits, low-noise amplifiers, filters, ADC/DAC modules, grounding and shielding.
Altium design control and documentation: manage evolving schematics and PCB designs, documentation, ERC/DRC, change-control.
Fault-finding and electrical integration: diagnose power supplies, analogue circuits, and control electronics; develop reliable PCBs and harnesses.

Responsibilities

Triage, root-cause, and prioritise electrical issues on live systems to maximise uptime.
Design, prototype, build, and test electrical fixes from concept to permanent integration.
Lead fleet-wide reliability upgrades and standardise control/electronics across systems.
Coordinate retrofitting/upgrades on live systems with Operations and Science teams.
Document and standardise fixes into engineering documentation and change processes.
