Job summary

Jackson Hogg is supporting a leading advanced manufacturing business in Hitchin to appoint a Production Engineer to join the established engineering team. The role focuses on supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations, driving process improvements and helping introduce new products into production.

Qualifications

• Experience within electronics manufacturing environment
• Broad engineering background covering mechanical and electronic systems
• Experience supporting production and manufacturing operations
• Knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies and root cause analysis
• Experience creating and modifying BOMs and manufacturing routings
• Experience writing and updating SOPs and manufacturing documentation
• Good understanding of production test systems and software
• Strong communication skills across departments

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to day-to-day manufacturing operations
• Investigate and resolve process and production issues affecting quality, output and equipment uptime
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality and cost reduction
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities and manufacturing readiness
• Work collaboratively with Quality and Supply Chain teams on corrective actions and improvement projects
• Participate in root cause analysis and structured problem solving activities (8D)
• Create, amend and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings and manufacturing documentation
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Support equipment, process and test system improvements
• Ensure compliance with internal quality systems and external certification requirements
