Job description

Jackson Hogg are supporting a growing advanced technology manufacturer with the appointment of a Process Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.

This is an opportunity to join a business developing and manufacturing highly advanced electronic products for applications across sectors including telecommunications, defence, satellite communications and other high-reliability industries.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, optimising and supporting manufacturing processes, helping to bridge the gap between product development and production. You'll work closely with engineering, quality and operations teams to improve yield, introduce new technologies and ensure processes are robust, repeatable and scalable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimise manufacturing and assembly processes.

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities from development through to production.

  • Conduct process validation, trials and continuous improvement projects.

  • Drive yield improvement, cost reduction and process capability initiatives.

  • Analyse process data using statistical tools and methodologies.

  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, process documentation and control plans.

  • Work closely with engineering, quality and operations teams to support manufacturing performance.

  • Support the introduction of new equipment, technologies and manufacturing methods.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or a related discipline.

  • Experience within a Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or NPI-focused position.

  • Background within electronics, semiconductor, microelectronics, RF, photonics, power electronics or other high-precision manufacturing environments.

  • Experience with process validation, DOE, SPC and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

  • Ability to work across both development and production environments.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Desirable

  • Experience with semiconductor packaging or electronic assembly processes.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, FMEA, 8D or DMAIC methodologies.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing scale-up and industrialisation projects.

  • Exposure to automated manufacturing equipment and process control systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a technology-led business investing heavily in its products, people and manufacturing capability, offering engineers the chance to work on genuinely innovative technologies within a growing organisation.
