Job summary

Bolt in Worthing seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements across electronics manufacturing. You will work with production, quality and engineering teams to increase efficiency, reduce waste and support continuous improvement initiatives in the factory.

The role focuses on analysing performance, managing BOMs, and supporting manufacturing changes with Lean tools and data-driven approaches.

Qualifications

HNC/HND/Degree in Manufacturing, Production or related Engineering discipline.
Experience in electronics manufacturing (SMT, conventional assembly, wiring or electro-mechanical assembly).
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Experience with BOMs, ERP/MRP systems and production data analysis.
IPC standards knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
Six Sigma, CAD/SolidWorks or tooling design experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

Identify and implement process improvements using production data and root cause analysis.
Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, VSM, A3).
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) activities.
Analyse production performance, yield, scrap, downtime, and costs to drive efficiency.
Maintain manufacturing documentation, BOMs, routings, and engineering changes.
Support equipment, tooling, and process validation activities.
Collaborate with quality, supply chain and engineering teams to resolve issues and deliver improvements.
