Job summary

Saab UK in Bedfordshire seeks an Electronics Engineering Manager to lead the electronics design and prototyping department, guiding a team of 10+ engineers across multiple programmes. You will own the design lifecycle from requirements to production release and manage workload, risks, and stakeholder reporting.

The role requires extensive hands-on electronics hardware design, strong leadership, and experience with safety-critical and high-reliability systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in electronics hardware design across digital and mixed signal systems.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects/programmes with many stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Guide, manage, and develop a delivery from a team of electronic engineers (10+ staff) across multiple programmes.
• Own and drive the electronic hardware designs across full design lifecycle from requirements capture to production release.
• Lead design activities for digital, mixed-signal, FPGA-based and high-reliability systems.
• Provide expert review and approval of schematics, PCB layouts, and documentation.
• Oversee verification/validation and design governance across safety-critical developments.
• Work cross-functionally with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Test and Programme Management teams to ensure aligned delivery.
