Job summary

CooperSurgical is seeking an R&D Electronics Engineer for on-site work in Falmouth, UK. You will sustain, develop and upgrade fertility equipment, collaborating with global R&D teams to deliver robust electro-mechanical medical devices.

You will lead design, verification and documentation efforts, ensuring 60601 EMC and safety compliance while working closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • BSc / BEng in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or related fields.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in medical device production.
  • Expertise in analog and digital circuit design and layout using tools such as Altium.
  • Strong background in hardware/software integration and hardware debugging with lab instruments.
  • Hands-on craft skills and experience with building circuits, soldering, servicing and prototyping.
  • Strong protocol and report writing skills.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).

R&D Electronics Engineer – Falmouth, UK

At CooperSurgical (CSI) we are currently looking to recruit a R&D Electronics Engineer to join our team in Falmouth, United Kingdom. You will be part of a team of experienced R&D engineers leading, designing, and testing our medical device products developed on site and across the Global R&D team.

In this role you will be responsible for sustaining engineering activities on our range of fertility equipment, new product development and upgrades of current and new products. The role reports directly to the R&D Director Product Engineering located in Falmouth, Cornwall, United Kingdom. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and be on‑site for this role.

Location: Onsite, Falmouth

Responsibilities

As R&D Electronics Engineer you will be responsible for our electro‑mechanical connected systems and devices associated with In‑vitro fertilization (IVF) and Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). You will also have an opportunity to contribute to product development and sustaining engineering activities associated with surgical devices, instruments, and disposables in the broader women’s health field, including Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN). You will contribute to various engineering projects and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and implement solutions, ensuring successful execution of engineering tasks and projects to tight time scales and meeting functional and non‑functional requirements.

You thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment, working closely with teammates and stakeholders in the wider organization. The position of R&D Electronics Engineer is vital for the success and growth of CooperSurgical.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Strong protocol and report writing skills.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
  • Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
