Job summary

Chess Dynamics in Horsham seeks an Electronics Engineer to join our electronics team of 12, developing circuit hardware and PCB technology with focus on EMC, power management, servo control, and processor interfacing for robust, scalable designs.

You will contribute to power budgets, output technical reports, and work within multi-disciplinary project teams to drive innovative solutions from concept through customer delivery, partnering with production for final output.

Qualifications

• Strong degree (or HND with proven experience) in a related discipline accredited by the IET.
• Experience and a willingness to work within project teams on multi-disciplinary projects with challenging objectives.
• Solid theoretical and practical understanding of electrical and electronics designs.
• Ability to complete analysis-based activities such as defining power budgets, specifications and ability to output findings within technical reports.
• Ability to produce Electrical/Electronic designs, familiar with principles of technical drawings and working with/supporting production to achieve the intended design output.
• Willingness to develop projects through the complete lifecycle of a project from initial concept definition to customer delivery.
• A demonstrable passion for finding innovation-based approaches to solutions and challenging the status quo rather than accepting methods as they are.

Responsibilities

• Electronics - producing circuit design, components, and PCB technology.
• Electrical – designing power and signal systems including design of the overall architecture, including power flow, system wiring and knowledge of various production processes.
• Set the standards of good engineering practice, and be seen by the rest of the business as an expert or aspiring expert in their given field.
• Suggest and make improvements to processes and practises within the department with a drive for innovation in all aspects of work.
• Communicate with more senior engineers and technical leads, sometimes briefing senior managers or customers.
• Take an active role in developing or enhancing technology within the business by developing their own areas of subject matter expertise and applying these to R&D development activities or projects.
