Job summary

Thermoteknix is seeking an Electronics Engineer to design, develop and support electronic hardware used across our advanced imaging and embedded systems. You will work with mechanical, software and firmware teams to take concepts through prototype, verification and transfer to manufacture.

This hands-on role requires strong analogue/digital design skills, proof-of-concept to production experience, and the ability to ensure reliability and manufacturability in rugged environments.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing electronic hardware for high-performance products.
• Strong knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB design processes.
• Proficiency with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, analysers).
• Ability to debug complex electronic systems at board and system level.
• Understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, FPGA interfaces or sensor integration.
• Experience designing for reliability and manufacturability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic circuits and assemblies for new and existing products.
• Produce schematics, PCB layout guidance, design calculations, and supporting technical documentation.
• Support analogue, digital, power, video, and embedded electronics.
• Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to integrate electronics with FPGA, microcontroller, sensor, display and interfaces.
• Carry out design verification, debugging, testing and fault finding on prototypes and production hardware.
• Support environmental, EMC and compliance testing where required.
• Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments and product development planning.
• Work with mechanical engineers to ensure ruggedised and manufacturable designs.
• Support transfer of new designs into production, including test procedures and manufacturing documentation.
• Investigate obsolescence, alternative parts, and design improvements.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing partners as needed.
• Maintain high standards of design control and documentation.
