Job summary

Tracerco is seeking an Electronics Engineer to design, develop and support state-of-the-art analogue and digital instrumentation for measurement and control applications in Billingham. The role covers hardware and firmware development across the full product lifecycle, from concept through manufacture and field support.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable instrumentation, address complex technical challenges and ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and quality

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing analogue and digital electronics including schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Hands-on experience with 32-bit MCUs (e.g., ARM Cortex‑M), low-power peripherals and power management.
• Experience with low-level firmware and peripherals (ADC) and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART).
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management and design for manufacture.
• Awareness of EMC Directive and other relevant standards.
• Strong understanding of analogue/digital circuit design, testing and verification techniques.
• Understanding of product development processes, reliability engineering and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate analogue signal conditioning and digital electronic instrumentation for precision measurement and control applications.
• Write, debug and maintain embedded firmware for 32-bit microcontrollers.
• Support products through full lifecycle, driving continuous improvement and successful product delivery.
• Plan engineering activities to meet milestones, quality standards and business objectives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated, robust products.
• Solve complex technical challenges involving hardware, firmware and system integration.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and business requirements.
