Job summary

The Electronics Technician role based in Langley offers hands-on testing, fault-finding and repair of electronic products from PCBs to complete systems. You will read circuit diagrams and use test equipment to ensure right-first-time quality within a production environment.

We value practical electronics experience, SMT soldering skills and the ability to work both independently and with colleagues across production and engineering teams. BPSS clearance may be required for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronics testing, fault-finding and repair.
• Ability to read circuit diagrams.
• Experience with SMT soldering and rework.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work independently or in a production team.
• An electronics qualification or apprenticeship is advantageous.
• IPC soldering experience beneficial.

Electronics Technician

Location: Langley, Berkshire
Salary: £16-£22 ph DOE
Contract: Temp / Temp-Pem, Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are recruiting an experienced Electronics Technician to join a well-established electronics manufacturing business based in Langley.

The successful Electronics Technician will support the assembly, testing, fault-finding and repair of electronic products ranging from printed circuit boards through to complete electronic systems. This position would suit someone with strong practical electronics experience who is confident working with test equipment, circuit diagrams and component-level repairs.

The Role

• Testing electronic products, assemblies and completed systems
• Diagnosing faults and repairing failed electronic units
• Carrying out component-level fault-finding

Requirements

• Previous experience working as an Electronics Technician, Test Technician, Electronics Engineer or similar
• Experience assembling, testing and repairing electronic products
• Strong electronic fault-finding skills, ideally to component level
• Ability to read and understand circuit diagrams
• Confident using basic electronic test equipment
• SMT soldering and rework experience
• Good attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team
• A recognised electronics qualification or electronics apprenticeship would be advantageous
• IPC soldering experience would be beneficial

Experience working with PCB layouts, Altium, prototype manufacturing, cables, camera systems or regulated industries such as aerospace, defence, medical or automotive would also be advantageous.

The successful applicant must be willing and able to complete BPSS security clearance.
