Job summary

Proactive Technical Limited in Chertsey is seeking a Test Technician to support manufacturing and testing activities for electronic assemblies. The role requires following defined test processes and demonstrating willingness to learn and develop skills in a high-technology environment.

The candidate will use standard bench-top equipment, read manufacturing drawings, and contribute to product quality with attention to detail. Excellent team collaboration and autonomy are valued.

Qualifications

• Good GCSE grades in English and Maths.
• ONC, HNC or equivalent in electronics.
• Comprehensive understanding of IPC standards.
• Understanding of industry standards and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver test activities following instructions and processes.
• Perform/prep test activities during product manufacturing.
• Electronics assembly inspection support.
• Read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation for traceability.
• Use bench-top test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters).
• Fault-find electronics to component level.
• Work autonomously within established procedures.
• Keen to learn new skills.

Test Technician

Test Technician urgently required to work for a leading manufacturing company based Near Woking. We are looking for experienced Technicians with a positive attitude to learning who can develop and enhance skills further. follow predefined test processes to deliver products through advanced and specialised experience, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.

Test Technician may carry out tasks such as.

• Leads and delivers in test activities following instructions and processes to ensure technology is delivered effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification and in a cost effective manner.
• Performs/prepares test activities during product manufacturing.
• Electronics assembly inspection support.
• Use of standard bench top test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters etc.
• Ability to fault find electronic circuits and assemblies to component level.
• Follows and communicates understanding of test procedures, processes and technical documentation.
• Works autonomously within established procedures and practices.
• Maintains manufacturing documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.
• Testing equipment 'Plug and Play'
• The ability to read from manufacturing drawings
• Assembly of electromechanical equipment with help of basic hand tools & following through Work instruction/schematics
• Keen in learning new skills

Qualifications and Experience:

• Good GCSE grades or equivalent in English and Maths.
• ONC, HNC or equivalent in an electronic discipline essential.
• Comprehensive understanding of relevant IPC standards.
• General understanding of industry standards and regulations in order to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safety.
• Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job expertise.
• Good attention to detail to allow you to maintain or exceed high levels of production/test standards and efficiency.
• Ability to fully contribute to the process of continuous improvements.
• Comprehensive understanding of working in similar high technology environment.
