Job Description

What will you be doing?

ALTEN is seeking a hands-on Electronics Engineer to support high-impact projects in industries such as defence, aerospace, and automotive. You'll contribute to the design, development, and validation of electronic systems, with a focus on PCB design and component lifecycle management.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Design and develop electronic circuits and systems, including schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
• Support end-of-life (EOL) and component obsolescence activities, identifying alternatives and implementing updates.
• Translate customer and system-level requirements into electronic hardware specifications.
• Perform circuit calculations, design reviews, testing, validation and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including systems, software, and mechanical engineers.

Who are we looking for?

• Experience in PCB design using Altium (or similar tools).
• Understanding of electronic component lifecycle, including obsolescence management.
• Strong fundamentals in analog/digital circuit design and debugging.
• Familiarity with validation processes and testing of electronic hardware.
• Previous experience in regulated or safety-critical environments (defence, aerospace, automotive) is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

• Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Altium Designer training/certification (desirable but not essential).
• Any additional certification in electronics design or testing is a plus.
