Job summary

ONYX Insight in Nottingham is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to own hardware development from concept to production for our advanced sensing products in renewable energy. You will design circuits, create schematics and PCB layouts, assemble and test prototypes, and verify hardware through functional tests and regulatory compliance coordination.

Collaborate with manufacturing partners and multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust sensing solutions, while documenting designs for production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on hardware design including schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Experience prototyping, debugging, and testing electronic products.
• Experience with external manufacturers and suppliers.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electronic circuits, schematics, and PCB layouts.
• Develop, assemble, and test prototypes.
• Conduct functional verification and validation of hardware designs.
• Coordinate EMC, environmental, and product testing with external laboratories.
• Work with manufacturing partners to support production and product improvements.
• Troubleshoot hardware and implement robust solutions.
• Create technical documentation such as user manuals, assembly documentation, and manufacturing guides.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative monitoring and sensing solutions.
