Electronics Design Engineer - Renewable Energy Sensing

Job summary

ONYX Insight is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join the Advanced Sensing team. This role owns electronic hardware development from concept through production, supporting renewable energy products deployed in the real world.

You will drive the full product lifecycle from design to manufacturing, including hardware testing, documentation, and collaboration with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience designing electronic hardware, including schematic capture and PCB design.
• Proven track record of developing and testing electronic products.
• Hands-on prototyping and debugging skills.
• Experience working with external manufacturers and suppliers.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
• A structured and methodical approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design electronic circuits, schematics, and PCB layouts.
• Develop, assemble, and test prototypes.
• Conduct functional verification and validation of hardware designs.
• Coordinate EMC, environmental, and product compliance testing with external labs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners to support production and improvements.
• Troubleshoot existing hardware and identify robust solutions to complex issues.
• Create technical documentation such as user manuals, assembly docs, and manufacturing guides.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver monitoring and sensing solutions.
