Job summary

ONYX Insight is a growing technology and engineering organisation in the renewable energy sector. As Head of Engineering – Advanced Sensing, you will lead the engineering function responsible for the development, delivery, and lifecycle management of ONYX Insight's hardware and sensing technologies.

You will translate product strategy into engineering execution, balancing innovation with operational excellence to serve a global customer base.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Proven track record delivering hardware or technology products from concept to market.
• Experience across hardware, embedded software and product support disciplines.
• Strong commercial awareness balancing innovation, cost, quality and delivery.
• Experience implementing engineering processes, governance and performance management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and grow the Advanced Sensing Engineering function.
• Set team objectives, priorities and resource plans aligned to business goals.
• Recruit, develop and retain engineering talent across hardware, embedded software and product support.
• Own the delivery of engineering activities, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Drive planning, prioritisation and execution across the product portfolio.
• Support adoption of new technologies and engineering solutions.
• Provide leadership across the full product lifecycle from concept to deployment.
• Ensure robust testing, validation and change control processes.
• Drive product reliability improvements through issue investigation and resolution.
