Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking an experienced Procurement professional to manage the electronics and control systems category for the race team. You will generate POs, liaise with engineering to capture specifications and ensure proper authorisation while expediting deliveries to avoid delays.

You will lead tenders, develop a strategic supplier base, and conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance and traceability. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience of procurement within a fast-changing engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Desirable: F1/Automotive/Motorsports procurement experience.
• Understanding of technical drawings, schematics and BOMs, with procurement experience of electronics components, wiring looms, sensors, PCBs or control systems hardware.

Responsibilities

• Generate Purchase Orders for electronic components, control systems hardware and related services with correct specifications and authorised requirements.
• Expedite deliveries from suppliers and maintain timely reporting of delivery status to internal stakeholders.
• Deal with non-conformances quickly to minimise delays (component failures, firmware/hardware revision issues, damaged connectors).
• Conduct commercial checks of supplier payment terms, delivery terms and general terms and conditions to align with Williams’ requirements.
• Lead tender processes for electronics and control systems commodities and create contracts with clear deliverables, lead times and terms.
• Develop a strategic supplier base for electronics components, wiring looms and control systems hardware.
• Carry out supplier audits including assessment of ESD control and IPC-A-610/620 compliance and traceability processes.
