Job summary

Leonardo is seeking a Category Manager (L8) within the Electronics Division. You will lead the UK category strategy across sites, manage a procurement team, and drive cost savings while ensuring contract governance and alignment with SAP systems.

This role offers hybrid working across multiple UK locations including Basildon, Edinburgh, and Luton. You will report to the UK Senior Category Manager and collaborate with diverse functions to optimise supplier relationships and tender management in a

Qualifications

• Extensive procurement experience, preferably including category management.
• Demonstrable working knowledge and understanding of Contract Terms & Conditions.
• Experience in managing a team of professionals in a corporate environment.
• A relevant business/engineering degree and/or working experience in a similar role.
• Significant experience in managing complex tenders.
• A thorough understanding of business processes and their contribution towards meeting business objectives.
• Experience working in a highly regulated business environment.
• Proficient level of MS Office based IT skills.
• CIPS qualification preferred.
• SAP user experience.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for delivering all aspects of the strategy for the category under your ownership across the UK sites.
• Manage a team of procurement professionals to deliver category strategy.
• Ensure timely execution of contracts including vendor shortlisting, tender management, price and contract negotiations.
• Promote collaboration with functions and projects to identify opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with strategic suppliers and conduct regular business reviews.
• Assist Head of Direct Category Management with defining and evolving category strategy.
• Represent Category Management with LoB relationships across the UK and influence stakeholders.
• Work with procurement capability team to ensure a resilient supply base.
• Influence stakeholders to ensure success of category strategy.
• Oversee cost-savings delivery and benchmarking prior to negotiations.
• Support development of the Category Management framework and governance.
