Job summary

Pertemps Crawley Perms is seeking an experienced Electronics Assembly Department Manager to oversee the daily running and organisation of the assembly department. The role focuses on electronic systems for defence and aerospace markets, requiring a proactive leader with strong PCB and electronics manufacturing knowledge.

You will lead the team, plan production schedules, design efficient workflows from drawings, drive continuous improvement, and ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards

• Strong track record of improving production quality and efficiency.
• Able to analyze production data and implement effective changes.
• Excellent communication across all organisational levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the assembly team.

• Read production drawings and design workflows for new assemblies.
• Identify problems and drive 6S and process upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.

Salary: From £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: Crawley – Own transport required due to location

Working Hours: Mon-Thu 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM | Fri 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Electronics Assembly Department Manager to oversee the daily running and organization of our clients assembly department. Specializing in electronic systems for defence and aerospace markets, they need a proactive leader with strong background knowledge in PCB and electronics manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Department Leadership: Manage, organize, and motivate the assembly team.
• Production & Planning: Plan schedules for personnel and equipment based on senior management priorities.
• Workflow Creation: Read production drawings and design efficient workflows for new assemblies.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify problems, maintain quality/efficiency, improve 6S standards, and suggest equipment/process upgrades.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards and industry requirements.
• Cross‑Department Collaboration: Liaise effectively with Design, QA, and other production teams.
