Job summary

Zenovo in Bristol, UK, is seeking an Electronics Test Engineer to join our team and help test, troubleshoot and verify electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies to ensure they meet specifications.

The role involves soldering, rework and assembly activities, diagnosing faults to component level using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment, with a strong emphasis on documentation and process compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing of PCBs, electro-mechanical assemblies, and complete products in accordance with test procedures and specifications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and electronic faults to component level using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
• Interpret electronic schematics and wiring diagrams to support testing, fault finding, and rework activities.
• Carry out soldering, component rework, potting, and staking to rectify identified faults and support assembly requirements.
• Accurately record test results, failure data, and rework activities, ensuring clear and traceable documentation.
• Investigate failures, anomalies, and borderline results, using initiative to identify potential issues and escalating concerns to Engineering with supporting data.
• Support prototype builds and new product introduction activities, while maintaining test equipment in accordance with company procedures and carrying out other duties as required.

Job Title: Electronic Test Engineer

Location: Bristol (On-Site Working)

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Bonus & Benefits (Depending on Experience)

We are looking for an Electronics Test Engineer to join our client in Bristol, responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and verifying electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies to ensure they meet requirements.

The role includes soldering, rework, and assembly activities in support of the testing function. You will be expected to diagnose and trace faults through to component level, using sound electronics knowledge and practical problem-solving skills rather than relying solely on predefined test procedures or checklists.

An ideal candidate will have a couple of years of Experience outside of University however we are happy to consider candidates who have done a Sandwich Degree and completed a year in Industry during their studies.

Job Responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong electronics knowledge at PCB and component level, with 2+ years hands‑on testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Proficient in using test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
• Able to read and interpret electronic schematics for assembly, testing, and fault finding.
• Good soldering and electronic rework skills.
• Competent in using Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to documentation.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently, using initiative to identify and resolve technical issues.
