Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support and manage the Electronic Prescribing (EP) system for SACT. You will train staff, resolve system issues and assist in the dispensary and chemotherapy desk.

The role requires GPhC registration and an NVQ3/BTEC in pharmaceutical sciences, with experience in Wellsky or EP systems being highly desirable. A dedicated cancer pharmacy team will support you in providing patient care.

Qualifications

  • NVQ3 or BTEC Cert in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
  • Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacy technician.
  • Experience with Wellsky dispensing systems or electronic prescribing is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Job description

You will be responsible for supporting the development, configuration, testing, and ongoing management of the Electronic Prescribing (EP) System for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT). Acting as a champion user of the system, you will provide critical helpdesk support and help train pharmacy, nursing, and prescribing staff. Additionally, your day-to-day activities will include participating in the dispensary, managing stock control, operating the chemotherapy desk, and counseling patients on their medication., The Electronic Prescribing Support Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for supporting the development, configuration, testing, and ongoing management of the Electronic Prescribing (EP) System for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT). Working under the supervision of the Advanced Oncology Pharmacist Electronic Prescribing, you will support the ongoing management of the EP system. You will act as a point of contact to help resolve system queries and contribute to the delivery of training programs for pharmacy and clinical staff., ENHT is seeking to maintain and expand the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre staff as we move to an exciting new future.,

    This role is ideal for a Pharmacy Technician who is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and holds an NVQ3 or BTEC Cert. Previous experience in pharmacy services is essential, while background experience Wellsky dispensing systems, or electronic prescribing systems is highly desirable. You will be supported by a dedicated team of cancer pharmacy staff to deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients on day case units and wards., Good team player - able to work alone and supervise others when necessary

    In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137per annum pro rata.
