Job Title: Electronic Design Engineer

Location: Frome (Hybrid Working - 3 Days On-Site Per Week)

Salary: Up to £65,000 (Depending on Experience)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an additional electronics engineer to strengthen our hardware and firmware development team.

Job Requirements:

• Design and develop electronic embedded systems for subsea and shipboard applications.
• Create new products from initial concept to final production, including component and system-level development.
• Enhance and maintain existing products through design improvements, addressing component obsolescence, and implementing cost-reduction strategies.

Necessary Experience/Skills:

• Extensive expertise in defining and developing electronic products to meet customer specifications.
• Proficient in designing for compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Experience with communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS485, SPI, I2C, I2S, among others.
• Practical knowledge of Altium Designer.
• Successful collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong debugging skills and familiarity with laboratory equipment.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Knowledge of programming languages such as C, VHDL, and Python.
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with version control systems.
• Skilled in PCB layout using Altium, creating manufacturing documentation, and collaborating with PCB fabrication and assembly services.

Education:

Degree in a relevant area such as Software or Electronic Engineering.
