Job summary

Parker Meggitt in Fareham is seeking an Electron Beam Welder to join the Speed Sensors team. You will perform precision soldering, potting and prep before EB welding in a high-volume aerospace manufacturing setting, managing your workload and ensuring high quality. Occasional broader assembly tasks may be required.

The role supports production needs and requires adherence to detailed procedures and specifications within a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Ability to follow detailed manufacturing instructions and engineering docs.
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to high-quality work.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently once trained.
• Electron Beam welding experience or knowledge of other welding processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform soldering, potting and assembly activities per specs and quality standards.
• Set up, operate and monitor Electron Beam welding equipment following procedures.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions and production docs.
• Complete self-inspection activities and maintain production records and traceability.
• Support general assembly and manufacturing activities as required to meet production demands.

Position Summary

The Role:

We are looking for an Electron Beam Welder to join our Speed Sensors team, supporting the manufacture of aerospace engine speed sensor probes. The role involves precision soldering, potting and preparation of components before they progress through the Electron Beam welding process. Working within a high-volume aerospace manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for managing your own workload, following detailed manufacturing procedures and maintaining the highest quality standards. You may also be asked to support general assembly activities across the wider production team as required.
