Job summary

Cranleigh STEM & Sustainability Recruitment is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to drive electro-mechanical product development for renewable heating technology. The role is office-based in Blackpool, UK, with responsibilities spanning concept through validation, certification and production.

You will lead hands-on design ownership, improve documentation and ensure compliant, commercially viable products while collaborating with management and external laboratories and certification

Qualifications

• Electro-mechanical product development experience in machinery or HVAC.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and product certification.
• Strong problem-solving and time management.
• Clear communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead electro-mechanical product development from concept to certification.
• Develop engineering solutions for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Produce and control technical files and compliance documentation.
• Plan and support testing with labs and certification bodies.
• Design and improve mechanical, electrical, and test arrangements.
• Support NPI and lifecycle, supplier engagement, design changes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders balancing priorities and deadlines.
