Job summary

Pertemps is recruiting a Design Engineer to focus on the design and delivery of underfloor heating (UFH) systems within Building Services, M&E, Renewable Energy or Construction Engineering. The role involves feasibility to handover, working with clients, contractors and internal teams.

You will design UFH layouts, specify components, support integration with heat pumps and district systems, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering design and technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design UFH systems, layouts, schematics and technical calculations.
• Specify manifolds, controls, pipework and associated heating components.
• Support integration of heat pumps, district heating and communal heating.
• Ensure designs meet Building Regulations, British Standards and industry requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications and design submissions.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers and internal teams.
• Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
• Resolve design issues and support project handover.
• Assist with technical evaluations, procurement and project documentation.

Design Engineer - Renewable Energy / Building Services

Pertemps are actively recruiting for a Design Engineer to join an innovative and growing business.

We're looking for an experienced, technically minded engineer with a background in Building Services, M&E, Renewable Energy or Construction Engineering.

The role will focus on the design and delivery of underfloor heating (UFH) systems, supporting projects from initial design and feasibility through to installation, commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Design UFH systems, layouts, schematics and technical calculations.
• Specify manifolds, controls, pipework and associated heating components.
• Support the integration of heat pumps, district heating, communal heating and commercial plant rooms.
• Ensure designs meet relevant Building Regulations, British Standards and industry requirements.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and design submissions.
• Work closely with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers and internal teams.
• Provide technical support throughout installation and commissioning.
• Resolve design and engineering issues and support project handover.
• Assist with technical evaluations, procurement and project documentation.

About You

• Experience in M&E, Building Services, Construction or Renewable Energy.
• Strong engineering design and technical knowledge.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable experience includes

• Main Contractor or Building Services experience.
• CAD or engineering design software.
• Degree/HNC/HND in Engineering, Building Services, Construction or a related discipline.

The Role

Monday - Friday | Hybrid working available

The role will involve regular travel to project sites and other company locations.
