Job summary

GE Vernova’s Marine Power Test Facility (MPTF) in Leicester region seeks an electro-mechanical draughtsperson to produce 2D/3D CAD drawings and detailed designs for electrical and mechanical systems on naval power projects. You will work with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, ensuring standards compliance and safety.

This autonomous role reports to the Systems Engineering Manager, with opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge propulsion solutions.

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds, HNC/HND or Degree in CAD, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Advanced user of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, or similar packages, with a strong track record in both 2D and 3D electro-mechanical design.
  • Proven experience in producing complex electrical/mechanical drawings (cable schedules, piping, and structural layouts) within a regulated engineering environment.
  • The applicant must be a sole national British citizen and have a valid UK passport, and holds, or is eligible to obtain, UK security clearance to SC level. Has a valid full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with company and regulatory health and safety requirements.
  • Create and maintain all project and site facility 2D/3D drawings for electro-mechanical installations.
  • Developing detailed designs to specifications, standards, and regulations.
  • Execute the design adhering to business standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Review engineering drawings and designs for accuracy to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
  • Providing technical support to Engineering colleagues.
  • Survey the existing building, structures, for the creation and update of drawings.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers (including site visits).
  • Assists in other areas of the business as required
