Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for a Technician in the Leicester/Kettering area, working out of the Leicester depot.
You will be accountable to the Team Manager for constructing, maintaining, and repairing the underground and overhead network up to 66kV. Your responsibilities will include programming and monitoring work colleagues, switching up to 66kV, issuing safety documentation, and other tasks relevant to the Technician role.
You are required to have grade A*-C/4-9 GCSEs in English and Maths or Functional Skills Level 2 in both subjects. Additionally, you must hold a City & Guilds 2339 Level 2 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering.
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
*Please note that the successful candidate may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are completed.
Main Responsibilities
You must be able to work independently as part of a small team, make on-the-spot decisions, and possess good communication skills. A flexible attitude, the ability to work under pressure, and meeting tight deadlines are essential. You will also be required to undertake training as an SAP and be mobile throughout the area to undertake standby duties as part of the team rota.
If not already attained, the successful candidate will need to undertake a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 qualification.
Operationally, you should live within approximately 30 minutes of the depot you are applying for.
