We are currently recruiting for a Grade 5 Network Planner to join us at our Worcester depot. Planners design our network and work with our Engineers to construct, reinforce, alter, and replace our equipment. The pace is fast, and if you join us, our customers will trust you to provide excellent service and minimize impact.
To be considered, you'll need English and Maths GCSE Grade C/Level 4 minimum, or Functional Skills Level 2 or above. You'll hold a Level 2 City & Guilds 2339, or an equivalent qualification. If not already attained, you'll need to undertake Level 3 City & Guilds 2339.
Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.

After training, you'll be responsible for project design, costing, quoting, and the replacement, diversion, or reinforcement of existing electricity network assets. As an electrical consultant, you'll determine if the supply chain can handle new electrics in the area. Your tasks include:
Experience as an electrician or a Grade 4 Network Planner is advantageous. We value understanding our customers' needs—likely small businesses, local authorities, or house builders.
Strong communication skills are essential to coordinate jobs, solve problems, and communicate clearly. You should be resilient, organized, and able to prioritize your workload. Teamwork and experience with iPads and computers are required. Training will be provided for software used in this technical role.
A full UK driving license is necessary as mobility around the area may be required, including standby duties.
You may not possess all skills initially but should have the confidence and ability to develop to the necessary standards with training.

National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding interests. This role requires a satisfactory DBS check, with screening levels depending on the role. Some roles require triannual checks.
