Job summary

Veolia Energy & Utility Services UK Limited is seeking an Electrician Mate to support Site Electricians and Maintenance Engineers on site in Newport. The role involves electrical testing, planned and reactive tasks, and assisting with five-yearly inspections and PAT testing.

You will complete documentation, RAMS, and CAFM updates, and work across site procedures. A strong safety mindset, teamwork, and willingness to learn are essential for this hands-on positions.

Qualifications

• Core electrical qualifications required (EAL Level 1 & 2 or equivalent).
• Proven knowledge of electrical testing and inspection.
• Experience with PAT testing and RAMS procedures is desirable.
• BS7671 (18th Edition) knowledge and safety-focused approach.
• Experience in commercial/industrial environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Electrician and Maintenance Engineers with planned and reactive electrical tasks.
• Carry out electrical tests, inspections, and five-yearly inspections.
• Complete PAT testing, network cabling installations, and other maintenance tasks.
• Prepare RAMS, maintain documentation, and update CAFM records.
• Support isolation, shutdowns, and on-call duties as required.

Prepare, follow and review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).Comply with all Health and Safety, environmental and electrical procedures. Support ISO and EHS audits, maintain good housekeeping, and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good condition and calibrated within the required timescales.Support maintenance shutdowns, out-of-hours work and the on-call rota when required. Participate in appropriate training, including working-at-height training, and work effectively with the Site Electrician, Maintenance Engineers and Veolia site team.No responsibility for strategic growth, frequent contact face to face with the client.
