Job Title: Electrician


Location: Portsmouth (HM Naval Base)

Service Area: Service Delivery, Alongside Services (ALS)

Hours of Work: 37 Per week

What You’ll be doing:

As Electrician, you’ll form part of the Service Delivery Electrical Shore Connections Team. With responsibility for providing temporary electrical supplies, temporary lighting (TES/TEL) and electrical shore connections to all entitled vessels and for events within Portsmouth Naval Base and surrounding Naval establishments, you’ll also be connecting power using the 50Hz and 60Hz network.

With a professional service of installing electrical supplies on Royal Naval and other entitled vessels in accordance with laid down KBS Maritime safety, quality and compliance standards, you’ll produce installation diagrams for temporary electrical services on ships undergoing maintenance periods.

Liaising directly with the customer to ensure we have met their requirements, you’ll also produce work within the electrical workshop, preparing equipment for installation, checking for faults and to ensure within date for inspection.

You’ll Have:

An NVQ or equivalent in electrical installation and inspection and/or a recognised time served apprenticeship. Ideally, you’ll also have BS7671 17th (3rd AMD) or 18th edition accreditation, a Full UK driving license to meet the requirements of customer engagement and cross functional work streams and have good IT skills including Microsoft office and Smartphones.
