Platinum Recruitment Consultancy is recruiting an Electrician to join an established facilities team in Millom, working within a secure prison environment. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on essential electrical systems to keep areas safe and compliant.

Salary £30,000-£36,000 depending on experience, plus weekend rota allowance, pension, 24+ days holiday, training and progression opportunities. This is a stable, long-term role with structured hours and clear progression.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining electrical systems in commercial or industrial environments.
• 18th Edition certification or willingness to update.
• City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical Installation Level 2+.
• Strong Health & Safety understanding and practices.
• Basic IT skills for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Undertake minor installation works and replacements.
• Conduct inspections and testing in line with regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.

What we're looking for:

To be successful as an Electrician, you should have:

• City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Installation (Level 2+)

• Experience in maintenance and fault finding
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• Basic IT skills
• Flexible approach to working patterns, including weekends
• Desirable knowledge of fire alarm and CCTV systems
