Job summary

Platinum-Recruitment in Millom is seeking an Electrician to join an established facilities team in a secure prison environment. The role offers a stable, long-term position with structured working patterns and ongoing development.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance on essential electrical systems, ensuring safety and compliance, with opportunities for progression into senior or supervisory roles and access to funded training.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2+ in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition wiring regulations, or willingness to update.
• Experience in maintenance and fault finding.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Basic IT skills for recording and reporting.
• Flexible working, including weekends.
• Desirable knowledge of fire alarm and CCTV systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and preventive maintenance across electrical systems.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Undertake minor installation works and component replacements.
• Conduct inspections and testing in line with regulations.
• Complete maintenance records and reports accurately.
• Support general maintenance and operational requirements.
• Work within strict Health & Safety procedures in a prison environment.

We’re recruiting for an Electrician to join an established facilities team in Millom, working within a secure prison environment. This role offers a stable, long-term position with structured working patterns and ongoing development.

As an Electrician, you’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance on essential electrical systems, ensuring a safe and compliant environment in Millom.
