Job summary

Streamline Search is seeking an experienced Electrician to perform EICR testing across residential and commercial properties in Essex. You will carry out inspections, document test results and ensure installations meet current safety standards.

Applicants should have strong EICR experience, 18th Edition qualifications and City & Guilds/recognised Inspection & Testing credentials, with a full UK driving licence. Competitive salary and benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• Proficient in carrying out EICRs and documenting results and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out EICRs and testing across residential and commercial properties.

• Identify defects and recommend remedial works.
• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance and remedial works as required.
• Ensure all works are performed safely and to high standards.
• Maintain accurate records of testing, certification and works.

• Support wider electrical team with general electrical works.

Electrician (EICR Testing)

Location: Essex
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

Our client is a well-established and growing specialist contractor delivering electrical and building services solutions across the housing association, local authority and private sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Electrician with strong EICR and inspection and testing experience to carry out electrical testing, identify defects and ensure installations meet the required safety and compliance standards.

Electrician (EICR Testing) - Position Overview

• Carry out EICRs, inspection and testing across residential and commercial properties.
• Complete electrical testing and certification in accordance with current regulations and industry standards.
• Identify defects, faults and areas of non-compliance and recommend appropriate remedial works.
• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance and remedial works where required.
• Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Maintain accurate records of testing, certification and completed works.
• Liaise professionally with clients, tenants, site teams and other stakeholders.
• Support the wider electrical team with general electrical works when required.

Electrician (EICR Testing) - Position Requirements

• Proven experience as an Electrician with strong EICR and inspection and testing experience.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Inspection and Testing qualification, such as City & Guilds #removed#, #removed# or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of BS 7671 and current electrical regulations.
• Competent in carrying out EICRs and accurately recording test results and certification.
• Ability to identify electrical defects and recommend appropriate remedial action.
• Good attention to detail with a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance.
• Confident communicator with a professional approach when dealing with clients and tenants.
• Full UK driving licence.
