Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an Electrician to perform Fixed Wire Testing / EICRs and remedial works across sites in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Travel up to 90–120 minutes from your location is required, with paid travel beyond the first 30 minutes and frequent overtime paid at time and a half or double time.

You will carry out board replacements, partial rewires, general upgrades and fault finding, ensuring compliance with current regulations and company standards.

Qualifications

• Craft qualification in electrical installation (City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 3 + AM2).
• 18th Edition (2381-18) qualification required.
• C&G Inspection and Testing 2391-52 certification.
• Valid Grade card/CSCS Card or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Fixed Wire Testing / EICRs and remedial works, including boards and rewires.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with regulations and standards.
• Complete and submit accurate electrical certification and job reports.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with Fixed Wire Testing Team to complete tasks on time.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and customer service.

About The Role

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (occasional evening work will be required)

Overview

OTE - £60k. You may be required to travel up to 90 - 120 minutes of your location. Travel is paid after first 30 minutes and frequent overtime (overtime rates - time & half, double time).

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out Fixed Wire Testing / EICRs (Electrical Installation Condition Reports), and associated remedial works. This may include:
  • Distribution Board Replacements
  • Partial Re-wires
  • Accessory Replacements
  • General Upgrades
  • Fault Finding
• Ensure all electrical work complies with current regulations and company standards.
• Complete and submit accurate electrical certification and job reports.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults safely and efficiently.
• Work collaboratively with the Fixed Wire Testing Team to ensure the timely completion of remedial tasks.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and customer service at all times.

Essential Hiring Criteria

• Experience in fixed wire testing (EICRs) and electrical remedial works
• Strong knowledge of health & safety, and industry best practice
• Excellent communication, and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Must have strong IT literacy
• Competent in completing electronic certification
• IPAFT (Desirable)
• PASMA (Desirable)

Essential Qualifications

• A craft qualification such as, a recognised electrical apprenticeship (ie. City & Guilds 2350 NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Engineering + AM2, or equivalent to)
• The current wiring regulations qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2381-18 Level 3 Award (18th Edition)
• C&G Inspection and Testing 2391-52
• Valid and in date Grade card/CSCS Card or equivalent qualification
