Responsibilities

• Attend residential properties to undertake electrical installations, repairs, alterations and fault finding

• Provide clear job notes and relevant electrical certification

Electrician - High Wycombe

PlumbLink is looking for an experienced and reliable Electrician to support our growing plumbing, heating and home improvement workload across High Wycombe and surrounding areas.

We are looking to develop a long term working relationship with a professional self employed electrician who can undertake domestic electrical work independently and to a high standard.

This is an ad hoc subcontracting opportunity, ideal for an established local electrician looking for additional work alongside their existing customers and commitments.

The Role

You will attend residential properties on behalf of PlumbLink to undertake electrical installations, repairs, alterations and fault finding.

Work may include:

• Domestic electrical installations
• Electrical fault finding and repairs
• Additional sockets and switches
• Replacement sockets and switches
• Lighting installation and replacement
• Indoor and outdoor lighting
• Bathroom electrical work
• Kitchen electrical work
• Extractor fan installation and replacement
• Electrical supplies for boilers and heating systems
• Heating controls and associated electrical work
• Electrical supplies for pumps and equipment
• Air conditioning electrical supplies
• Fused connection units and isolators
• Consumer unit work where required
• Circuit alterations and additions
• Testing and inspection
• Electrical safety checks
• Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) where appropriately qualified
• Making safe defective electrical installations
• Electrical work associated with property refurbishments
• Identifying and reporting additional electrical work required

Work will vary from smaller individual appointments through to electrical work forming part of larger bathroom, kitchen, heating and property improvement projects.

Qualifications & Competence

We are looking for a competent electrician with proven domestic experience and the appropriate qualifications for the work being undertaken.

Ideally, you will have:

• Relevant electrical qualifications
• Current knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
• Appropriate testing and inspection competence
• Experience with domestic electrical installations
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to test and certify your work where required
• Part P knowledge and appropriate registration where applicable
• Full UK driving licence
• Own suitable van or work vehicle
• Own professional tools and testing equipment
• Appropriate insurance for subcontract work
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• High standard of workmanship and attention to detail

Membership of an appropriate competent person scheme such as NICEIC or NAPIT would be advantageous.

Customer Service

When undertaking work for PlumbLink, you will represent our business directly at the customer's property.

You should be confident communicating with customers, explaining electrical faults clearly and identifying additional work or safety concerns where appropriate.

All work must be completed safely, professionally and in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.

Accurate job notes, photographs and relevant electrical certification will be required where applicable.

Subcontractor Arrangement

This is a self employed, ad hoc subcontracting opportunity rather than a salaried position.

Work will be offered as suitable electrical jobs and projects become available.

The scope of work, requirements and subcontractor rate will be agreed before each job.

There is no fixed commitment to a set number of hours, making the opportunity particularly suitable for established electricians looking to supplement their existing workload.

Working Area

Work will primarily be within High Wycombe and surrounding areas, generally within approximately a 10 to 15 mile radius.

Typical locations include High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Marlow, Amersham, Hazlemere, Holmer Green, Bourne End, Wooburn Green, Princes Risborough and surrounding areas.
