Job summary

Insight Executive is recruiting an experienced Electrician for a major healthcare organisation in Surrey. You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a large healthcare environment, ensuring safety and reliability of electrical systems.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Electrical Installation, 18th Edition, and experience in maintenance, fault finding and inspection/testing. On-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding and installation.
• Experience with inspection and testing.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance.

The Opportunity

Insight Executive is currently recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join a major healthcare organisation in Surrey.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician with strong commercial, facilities or healthcare experience to work within a critical environment, supporting the safe and reliable operation of essential electrical systems and services.

The Role

As a Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across a large healthcare environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults and breakdowns.
• Installing, maintaining and repairing lighting, power supplies, sockets, switches and associated electrical systems.
• Carrying out electrical inspection, testing and remedial works.
• Responding to maintenance requests and prioritising urgent electrical issues.
• Undertaking minor electrical installation and modification works.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed works using relevant maintenance/CAFM systems.
• Working safely within a live healthcare environment while minimising disruption to clinical services.
• Working alongside other maintenance disciplines, contractors and operational teams.
• Complying with all relevant Health & Safety, electrical safety and permit-to-work procedures.
• Working in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition) and applicable healthcare standards.
• Participating in an on-call or standby rota where required.

About You

We are looking for an experienced electrician who can demonstrate:

• Relevant NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Electrical Installation qualification or equivalent.
• Current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification.
• Experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding and installation.
• Experience with inspection and testing.
• A strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable Experience

Experience within any of the following environments would be advantageous:

• NHS / healthcare
• Hospitals
• Commercial facilities
• FM environments
• Large public-sector buildings
• Critical environments

Additional qualifications such as C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing, AM2 or equivalent, together with knowledge of HTM standards, would be highly desirable.
