Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in London is seeking an experienced Electrical Tutor/Assessor to deliver and assess electrical training across classroom theory and practical workshops. You will plan well-structured lessons, build learners' knowledge and hands-on skills, and support each learner to complete their programme successfully.

You will assess learners against qualification standards, keeping accurate portfolio and assessment records and providing timely support where progress slips.

• Strong practical competence and industry experience in the electrical trade.
• Ability to deliver both theory and practical workshop training.
• Ability to assess learners and keep clear records.
• Experience in maintaining portfolios and progress records.

Are you an experienced electrical professional ready to pass your trade knowledge on to the next generation?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider to deliver and assess electrical training across both classroom theory and practical workshop sessions. You'll plan well-structured lessons, build learners' technical knowledge and hands-on skills, and support each learner to complete their programme successfully.

You'll also assess learners against the standards for their qualification, keeping accurate portfolio and assessment records and putting timely support in place where progress slips.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing learners' knowledge and practical skills against qualification requirements.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Strong practical competence and industry experience in the electrical trade
• A relevant electrical qualification at Level 3 or equivalent
• Ability to deliver both theory and practical workshop training
• Ability to assess learners accurately and keep clear records

Desirable (but not essential):

• An assessor award such as TAQA or A1
• A teaching qualification such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training
• Previous experience of teaching or training in further education or work-based learning
