Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Limited is seeking a Home-based Electrical Training Officer to support apprentices across Wales. You will manage a regional caseload, conduct workplace visits and guide learners toward EPA and AM2 success.

Ideal candidates are experienced NVQ Assessors or qualified electricians moving into work-based learning. Full training including TAQA/teaching certificates will be provided for candidate development.

Qualifications

• Essential: NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Installation (or recognized electrical apprenticeship) with valid ECS Card.
• Desirable: TAQA/A1/D32/D33 assessor award or related teaching qualifications.

• Manage a regional caseload of electrical apprentices across Wales.
• Conduct regular workplace visits, observations and progress reviews with learners and employers.
• Assess apprentice knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours against industry standards.
• Support learners through Gateway, End Point Assessment (EPA) and AM2 preparation.

Job Title: Electrical Training Officer

Location: Wales

Salary: Up to £40,175 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (35 Hours per Week, Monday-Friday)

Role Overview

A national apprenticeship provider in the building services sector is seeking a home-based Electrical Training Officer to support apprentices across Wales. This position involves managing a regional caseload of learners, conducting workplace observations, delivering progress reviews, assessing practical competence, and preparing apprentices for End Point Assessment (EPA) and the AM2 exam.

This role is ideal for an experienced NVQ Assessor or a qualified electrician looking to move off the tools into work-based learning. Full training and qualification support (including TAQA Assessor awards and teaching certificates) will be provided for candidate development.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a regional caseload of electrical apprentices across Wales.

• Perform regular workplace visits, observations, and progress reviews with apprentices and employers.

• Assess apprentice knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviors against industry standards.

• Support learners and employers through Gateway, End Point Assessment (EPA), and AM2 preparation.

Requirements

• Essential: NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Installation (or recognized electrical apprenticeship), valid ECS Card, strong technical trade experience, and full UK driving licence.

• Desirable: Assessor award (TAQA/A1/D32/D33), 18th Edition BS 7671, C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing, or prior work-based learning experience.
