Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is seeking an Electrical Training Officer to support apprentices across Wales on a home-based basis, with regional travel. You will manage a regional caseload, conduct workplace observations, deliver progress reviews, and prepare learners for EPA and AM2.

This role suits an experienced NVQ assessor or an electrician moving into work-based learning. Full training and TAQA/AET qualifications will be provided.

Qualifications

• Essential: NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Installation (or recognised electrical apprenticeship).
• Essential: ECS Card and full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: TAQA/A1/D32/D33 Assessor awards, 18th Edition BS 7671, C&G 2391.

Responsibilities

• Manage a regional caseload of electrical apprentices across Wales.
• Perform regular workplace visits, observations, and progress reviews.
• Assess apprentice knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviours against industry standards.
• Support learners through Gateway, EPA, and AM2 preparation.
• Monitor attendance and off-the-job training progress.
• Provide timely interventions for apprentices at risk of falling behind.
