Job summary

Morson Edge in Newport, Wales, is seeking an Electrical Testing Team Leader to oversee the day-to-day activities of the testing team, ensure safety, quality and timely completion of work on rolling stock. You will lead, coach and develop the team while coordinating resources to meet production targets in a safety-critical environment.

The role requires electrical fault finding experience, strong leadership, and the ability to work a shift pattern.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or Modern Apprenticeship completed in a relevant discipline.
• Experience leading a team in manufacturing or engineering.
• Experience in shift-based operations.
• Understanding of production processes and plant operating procedures.
• Experience with lean manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate testing activities within the department.
• Oversee electrical fault finding on rolling stock / vehicles.
• Ensure work is completed safely and within timescales.
• Complete test reports and documentation accurately.
• Mentor and develop team members; conduct briefings and training.
• Promote continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
• Liaise with management on staffing and resources.
