Job summary

James Fisher and Sons plc is seeking an Electrical Technician for its Inchinnan, Glasgow site. The role involves manufacturing, assembly and service of products, with emphasis on QA, safety and guidance from senior team members.

You will supervise Trainee Technicians, plan workloads, and ensure operations are performed safely. A defence sector context requires compliance with security clearance processes and rigorous training programs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated supervisory ability over trainees or junior technicians.
• Knowledge of diving communication systems and integrated diving control systems.
• Understanding of QA and HSE within a manufacturing/service environment.
• Proven track record in an electronic/electrical discipline.
• Experience in a defence-related or similar regulated industry is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Trainee Technicians.
• Sign off controlled company documentation.
• Plan workloads and delegate tasks.
• Carry out all operational activities in a safe and reliable manner.
• Move materials through workshop from start to completion.
• Develop electronics/electrical team skills and competencies.
• Communicate clearly and respond to feedback.
